Conclusion
Segregation during the 1950s was seen all over the United States. Even Joplin had a segregated school called Lincoln where African American students attended. After the Brown vs. Board of Education decision was passed in 1955, Joplin gave students of Lincoln the choice to attend Joplin High School. The school eventually fully merged to JHS that we know today.
Segregation is still a problem, even in the state of Missouri. The Kansas City area has been in the news for the past few years because of their schools. This webquest has provided an outlook of the past and present and how far the Brown vs. the Board of Education has taken the education system in the United States. Although there have been strides to try to change the education issue from the Civil Rights Movement, we can still see the presence of issues in our education system.
