Classroom Policies
All JHS students shall receive some measure of credit for any legitimate work turned-in, using the following guidelines:
A. General Assignments:
1. Handed-in on time: up to full credit (actual grade obviously the discretion of instructor
2. Handed-in late, within TWO WEEKS: 60-90%
3. AFTER TWO WEEKS 25-60%
ALL LATE WORK WILL BE GRADED BY THE INSTRUCTOR TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK TO THE STUDENT. A PERCENTAGE STATED ABOVE WILL BE GIVEN BASED ON WORK THAT IS CORRECT.
Ways to Be Successful:
1. Come to class prepared. Have any assigned lecture viewed the night before. Also have paper and pen/pencil ready at the start of every class if needed.
2. Games, Skype, and chatting are completely off limits during class time. Don't be tempted to get distracted.
3. DO NOT put off assignments over 1 week. Class time will be given for activities, but vocabulary and papers should be done at home. Late work is counted off drastically.
4. Discuss with someone what you learned in class. Bounce off ideas, get new ideas, or learn more about something that peeked your interest. Visit the class blog or tweet your interests.
5. If you get lost or need help ASK FOR ASSISTANCE FROM YOUR TEACHER. You may e-mail, Facebook, Tweet, or visit after class.
