A Little About Mrs. Travis
I've been teaching and working in the Joplin School District since 2005 where I've taught World Geography, American History, and World History. I also am an assistant volleyball coach and the Prom sponsor. I wish I could have lived during the golden age of Hollywood as I am a huge fan of classic movies such as "The Wizard of Oz" and the TV show "I Love Lucy." I love the Social Sciences because there are so many interesting things to read and learn about! History repeats itself and it's our job to make sure kids understand that and learn to live as an educated American citizen. I love trying to find new ways to reach out and teach history. Most students cringe at the thought of lecture and a textbook so my goal is to go outside the box and let kids understand the past with modern day twists. Be sure to check my tabs on the side for more information about classwork and projects.
